Effect of Haejo - okho - tang Aqua - acupuncture by Density on the Hyperthyroidism Induced by Sodium Levothyroxine in Rats

Abstract
This study was done in order to investigate the effect of Haejo-okho-tang aqua-acupuncture by density on the hyperthyroidism in female rats.
The hyperthyroidism was induced by oral administration of sodium levothyroxine everyday for 7 days to female rats.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua-acupuncture were injected daily into the corresponding loci of the Inyong (ST_9), Choksanmi (ST_(36)) bilaterally and Blank locus at the root of tail for 5 days and therefore the level of T©ý, T©þ, TSH and alkaline phosphatase activities were measured.
The obtained results were summarized as follows:
1. T©ýcontent:
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) showed some decrease respectively as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 5%, 10% and 20%.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Choksamni(ST_(36)) showed some decrease respectively as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 5%, 10% and 20%.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Blank locus did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group.
2. T©þcontent:
5%, and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) showed some decrease respectively as compared with the control group. 10% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 5% and 20%..
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Choksamni(ST_(36)) showed some decrease respectively as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of density 5%, 10% and 20%.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Blank locus did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group.
3. TSH content:
5% and 10% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong(ST_9) showed some increase respectively as compared with the control group. 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong(ST_9) did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 5% and 10%.
5% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Choksamni(ST_(36)) showed some increase respectively as compared with the control group. 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Choksamni(ST_(36)) did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Blank locus showed some increase respectively as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 5%, 10% and 20%.
4. Alkaline phosphatase activity:
10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) showed some decrease respectively as compared with the control group. 5% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group. There were not any statistical difference by density of 10% and 20%.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Choksamni(ST_(36)) did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group.
5%, 10% and 20% Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Blank locus did not reveal any statistical difference as compared with the control group.
According to the avove results, it is concluded that Haejo-okho-tang aqua acupuncture to Inyong (ST_9) and Choksamni (ST_(36)) respectively had recovering effect on the Hyperthyrodism induced by sodium levothyroxine in female rats, while they did not show any differences by density at this experiment.
It is recommended that further study of aqua acupuncture by density and point to thyroidism is necessary to provide a practical guide in the future.
